We stayed 2 nights. We thought this was a superb place. We were upgraded into the cottage. Although 5 minutes from the main lodge, the cottage was stunning - large and superbly appointed with views into valleys that are to die for. Great common areas as well: welcoming lounge and well-stocked bar.

The food was consistently superb and the communal aspect of dining (which we'd been nervous about) turned out to be fine. The service was great and the tour of the property and farm great fun. We also went on a guided hike with Steve that was a real highlight of our stay. The massage therapy was the best I've experienced.

The Arthurs Pass National Park is beautiful and Grasmere Lodge well located for it. All in all I can't praise this place enough.

Grasmere was one of the highlights of my trip! I left feeling as though I was leaving friends and it was one of the few stops that I felt I had experienced sincere Kiwi hospitality. All of the Harper properties were truly spectacular but there was just something about Grasmere that made you feel like it had a heart. Thank you for your kind hospitality.

We left without saying ‘good bye.’ Our stay was memorable. A stunningly beautiful place; wonderful facilities; superb food and wines; and very special hospitality. Thank you for looking after us and especially for our farm tour with Tom.

Just a note to say how much Lynne and I enjoyed our short time at Grasmere. Your staff are great and Heather and her charges were most enjoyable. Back now to reality!

Tell Heather… we rode in Glenorchy and it was gorgeous, but it wasn’t the same without Heather.
Tell Tom and Beth (and this goes to Oli and Vicki as well)… others showed wonderful hospitality, but not like you Kiwis at Grasmere.
Tell Jude… we ate at Saffron and many other fine places… she doesn’t take a back seat to anyone!

We have just spent a magical few days at Grasmere Lodge, near Christchurch NZ. It was absolutely first class in every way. Very high standard of accommodation with every fitting and comfort, wonderful food, unbelievable surroundings, and the warmest of welcomes from the owner and staff who made us feel that we really were part of the family.
